Since this is our first blog post, we would like to take a moment to welcome you and thank you for your interest in Plasmalyte. We are redefining grow lighting, and are here to answer your questions about integrating LEP fixtures into your greenhouse, aquarium, or animal habitat.

Who Are We?

Plasmalyte was founded by Dayne Haight with a clear purpose: to provide you with high quality plasma lighting solutions that improve the health of your indoor plants and animals.

What is an LEP fixture?

Light emitting plasma, LEP for short, is an innovative technology produced by Luxim and integrated into grow lighting fixtures by Stray Light Optical Technologies. LEP offers significant advantages over other grow lighting solutions, including its light spectrum and energy efficiency.

What’s So Different About the LEP Spectrum?

We all know plants, animals and even people do best when they are exposed to natural sunlight. However, when sunlight is just not available we resort to grow lights which are bright, but typically do not have the same spectrum as the sun.

LEP provides a new solution that actually follows the sun’s spectrum, providing your plants and animals with all the light they need to thrive. The graph below demonstrates the difference offered by this “sunlight in a box.”

How Energy Efficient is LEP Technology?

The tic tac size LEP bulb consumes about half the energy of typical grow lights. This means that you can replace your current 465W system with a 265W LEP system without decreasing light output, saving you money on your monthly energy bill.
